This exceptional Peruvian coffee from The Naughty Dogroastery captivates with its liveliness and elegance from the very first sip. In the cup, a sweet, juicy flavor unfolds with a higher, yet very pleasant acidity reminiscent of candied limes. Gradually, subtle notes of dandelions and floral honey emerge, lending the coffee a lightness and floral complexity. The finish is beautifully rounded out by creamy milk chocolate, creating a harmonious and long-lasting aftertaste.
The coffee comes from the El Corazon area in the Chirinos region of Peru, where it is grown at an altitude of 1,850–2,000 meters above sea level. It is precisely this high altitude and ideal climatic conditions that give the coffee cherries enough time to ripen slowly, which is reflected in their rich flavor profile. Farmer Efrain Carhuallocllo devotes the utmost care to cultivation and respects both traditional methods and the region’s natural conditions. The Caturra variety achieves exceptional quality here—it is clean, sweet, and beautifully aromatic.
The washed processing method highlights the natural character of this coffee. After harvest, the coffee cherries are pulped and fermented in water, which helps remove residual mucilage and enhance the purity of the flavors. Subsequent washing and careful drying ensure a bright, transparent profile without any off-notes. Thanks to this method, the fresh acidity, floral nuances, and subtle sweetness stand out, together creating a perfectly balanced cup.
