Welcome to Gust Coffee Roasters, a Belgian specialty coffee roaster in the south of Brussels.

We are obsessed with the best selection of coffees around the world and our mission is to let you discover what fresh, ethical and delicious coffee tastes like.

How it all began.

A few years ago, when Tanguy Herssens found out what fine coffee can actually bring in terms of the complexity of taste and the amount of different flavor notes you can find in it, it literally started to haunt him! He decided to start sourcing and roasting his own selection of coffee. He wants to share his obsession with this little red fruit with you in this form!

Our philosophy.

Gust Coffee Roasters was born out of a desire to do things a little differently than how coffee is presented today. We carefully select only the most sustainable, ethical and seasonal specialty coffees from around the world. While we only source fresh crops, we roast our coffees slowly and in small batches to respect and enhance the natural flavors of each coffee origin and bring you perfection in every coffee you taste from us.

Try Gust and taste our obsession!

Sourcing.

Finding the best areas is one thing, but we at Gust believe that this should not happen at all costs. In addition to quality, we also want to look for coffees from ethical and sustainable sources and with a minimum of middlemen in the entire coffee supply chain. We only buy fresh, seasonal produce.

The word "Gust" literally means "sudden strong gust of wind" and that is what we strive for with our coffees. We hope to make a slight difference in today's unfair coffee industry and make premium coffee available to everyone.

More than 95% of the coffee sold in the world is traded in the commodity market and the prices paid to coffee farmers are simply ridiculously low. Most of the coffee farmers do not make money and usually barely enough to feed their families and provide decent living conditions for their workers.

Since the harvesting of coffee cherries takes almost a year, if everything goes well (suitable weather conditions, quality collection and processing of coffee beans), the grower sells green coffee beans at the price set on the stock market, regardless of their quality.

At Gust, we set the price based on the quality and taste of the coffee, independent of stock market prices, ensuring a fair price for everyone in the value chain.

Roasting

To ensure quality and freshness, we roast weekly, to order and in small batches. After roasting, your coffee is packaged and shipped directly from our roastery.

We roast our coffees on "Ross", a Probat 5KG roasting machine. All types of roasting are tailored to each lot of coffee, so that you too can fully enjoy the taste of the given coffee and discover its natural taste and delicate aroma.

The result is a delicious and balanced coffee with light sweetness, full body and fine acidity! Therefore, with each single-origin coffee, you will discover the unique characteristics of the given region and wonderful taste notes.

Our obsession. Your coffee.
