About Elbgold Röstkaffee
The Elbgold Roastery from Hamburg combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern way of roasting: individual roasting profiles that underline the character of each coffee. They try to get to know the coffee and its producers personally and most often visit Ethiopia, Honduras, India and Costa Rica.
On their Probat G45 from the 1930s, the main roaster Basti and colleagues worked on the roasting profile until they found the best one together. They roast from Monday to Friday and, for the sake of interest, in 2018 they roasted 132 tons of coffee. But it is not just a roastery, Elgold also owns a sweet-shop, where their chef Sabrina and her team bake fresh cakes, biscuits and sweets every day and always create new seasonal experiences.
The Elbgold team is constantly striving to improve, so in 2016 the modernization took place. He believes that roasting coffee is a craft and has nothing to do with magic. Therefore, they speak honestly and tangibly about their way of roasting.
