If you're looking for an espresso that will embrace you with its depth, sweetness, and delicate fruity structure, then Peru Monte Grande is just for you. This dark roasted coffee from the Danish masters at The Coffee Collective will captivate you with notes of chocolate and light vanilla plums with a hint of pear. Thanks to its low acidity and full body, it’s an ideal choice not only for espresso lovers but also for those who enjoy a strong moka. Full, balanced, and pleasantly sweet – Monte Grande is an espresso that will delight anyone who loves a rich cup without excessive acidity.
This coffee comes from the Cajamarca region in Peru, where farmers grow the Caturra, Catuai, and Pache varieties at an altitude of 1640–1750 meters above sea level. It’s grown by a group of 33 farmers, with David Nuñez standing out, who grows coffee with a view of the Ecuadorian mountains. On his farm, nestled between steep hills, the coffee is cultivated with love and care. A visit to his farm isn’t just about coffee – it’s a meeting with hospitality, tradition, and a passion for quality beans. After harvest, the coffee cherries are processed directly on the farm and dried on the roof of his house, where their rich flavor slowly develops under the sun’s rays.
Monte Grande is a washed coffee, meaning the coffee cherries are carefully de-pulped after harvest and fermented in water tanks to enhance their clean and bright flavor. This method highlights its balance and subtle fruity sweetness, while the darker roast adds smoothness, body, and pronounced chocolate notes. If you’re looking for an espresso with character that carries the authenticity of the Peruvian mountains, Monte Grande is the choice that won’t disappoint!
