About 3FE

3FE (Third Floor Espresso) started off as a training room on the third floor of an apartment building, and gradually became Dublin's epicentre for passionate baristas.  The founder of the company is Colin Harmon, the Irish Barista Champion of 2009 and author of the beloved "What I Know About Running Coffee Shops".

In December of 2009, the company opened its doors to the general public in a small the lobby of a small nightclub Twisted Pepper, and from August of 2011, they run their own coffee shop and training centre in Lower Grand Canal Street. 3FE now roasts their own coffee in Dublin. Recently, they have joined forces with other great companies such as Fallon & Byrne, Hollands of Bray, L. Mulligan Grocer, Slice of Cake coffee shop, Staple Foods, Schon Coffee in Kilkenny and Suas Coffee in Ennis. In addition to that, the employees of 3FE work closely with Nuova Simonelli, Eureka, Marco and Dairyland to always work towards perfecting their craft. The company always strives to defend simplicity, quality and value of good service that their original small shop and hub for coffee enthusiasts was built on.

So far, the most interesting coffee I had the chance to taste at Kofiu
Incredibly full and juicy taste of fruit, a divine combination of mild acidity and sweetness
Strawberries smell already after grinding, after tasting you immediately smell strawberries and sweet mango, the "finish" is then floral to slightly plum. It has a little Haribo-teddy aftertaste
The taste is slightly reminiscent of anaerobic pieces (processed while dry)
I bought the coffee a month after roasting and I couldn't find a single flaw

Beautiful design packaging.
Unfortunately, we were unable to extract almost anything from the coffee. Maybe just a bad batch, I don't know, but when the unpleasant bitterness overpowers everything else that might be hiding in the coffee. And we tried almost everything, from water to grinding. Becomes.
