WE BELIEVE IN COFFEE!
The Samba coffee roaster has been roasting and distributing coffee since 1979 throughout Greece. The raw materials for its unique coffee are collected in the best producing countries in the world. In their own modern processing plant, they process the coffee and use it to create unique blends of Greek coffee, espresso, filtered coffee, organic coffee and also drinks.
For them, business relationships do not end with the sale of coffee. They are also based on education and imparting concepts such as quality, respect for the raw material and love for coffee extraction. They love coffee and are fully dedicated to bringing out the best qualities of each variety. The knowledge they have acquired over the years is shared through seminars on tasting, roasting, etc. Above all, they try to prepare coffees that evoke strong emotions.
THE LIFE OF A ROASTER
- 1995 - start of own production of filter coffee and espresso
- 2003 - they expand the roaster and buy more roasters
- 2005 - they organize the 1st seminar and coffee tasting in Greece
- 2011 - new premises for the roastery 2020 - rebranding of the company
- 2021 - store opening
DEVICE
State-of-the-art facilities are specially designed with an emphasis on energy saving (bioclimatic design) and excellent management of raw materials. The facilities include dedicated coffee storage areas, roasting and packaging areas, quality control laboratories and areas for training and seminars (Café Samba sensory laboratory).
Kostas Kalafatas
The creative successor to the Samba coffee roaster founded by his father Stefanos in 1979 in Athens. He is an AST certified trainer and holder of Q Processing Level 1 and Coffee Diplomas and has extensive experience and expertise in the coffee industry. He is one of the first in Greece to pave the way for specialty coffee and continues with the same passion to organize coffee events and competitions as a partner of the SCA Specialty Coffee Association (as SCA National Coordinator) and under the Samba Coffee Roasters brand. Its constant goal remains to provide quality coffee and create understandable and accessible procedures for educating the public so that they can recognize it and include it in their selection.
