About Black Hat Coffee

Black Hat Coffee – More Than Just Coffee, More Than Just a Café

Black Hat Coffee is a brand that seamlessly blends a passion for specialty coffee, timeless design, and a deep sense of detail. Since its founding in 2018, the roastery and signature espresso bar in Hamburg have built a reputation as a place where quality, aesthetics, and human connection form an inseparable whole. Every cup of coffee here is a thoughtfully crafted experience – one that goes far beyond caffeine.

From a Mobile Coffee Bar to an International Brand

The brand was founded by Inna Zamikhovska, originally from Odesa, and her husband Slava. They started out as a duo with no marketing budget but a big dream – to create a real brand with a clear identity. From a mobile espresso bar, designed down to the last detail, Black Hat quickly became a space with a soul of its own. Today, Black Hat Coffee is based in Hamburg’s Eppendorfer Weg, with a new location coming soon in Berlin. Inna runs the business and is the face of the brand – from barista to manager to ambassador of the brand’s values, she creates a space where design, music, coffee, and people naturally connect.

A Commitment to Quality, Storytelling, and Community

The coffees offered by Black Hat Coffee score at least 85 points on the SCA scale, but the brand goes even further – it crafts a holistic experience reflected in the café’s design and its packaging, which resembles tailored suits. Each coffee profile is paired with a pattern on the packaging, helping customers navigate both flavor and visual identity. The café space is designed with the same playfulness and elegance – from chevron floors to vinyl beats in the background. At Black Hat Coffee, it’s not just about coffee – it’s about relationships: with people, with music, and with the coffee itself.

Recognition, Awards, and Social Impact

Black Hat Coffee has been named among the Top 10 cafés in Hamburg by Falstaff and Abendblatt, and its interior design has been featured by Best Café Designs, one of the world’s 100 most influential design blogs. During the invasion of Ukraine, the brand stepped up to help – the café temporarily closed, but they continued selling coffee from their mobile bar, donating all proceeds to support Ukraine. Inna actively supports the employment of migrants and refugees, is planning expansion to Berlin, and is also developing a cold brew and coffee cocktail program. Black Hat Coffee is more than a roastery – it’s a living organism built on passion, creativity, and social responsibility.
