About Takamura Coffee Roasters

Takamura Coffee Roasters was founded on a simple but fundamental insight: the importance of the perfect finishing touch to a culinary experience. Just as a cup of green tea can reduce the satisfaction of excellent sushi, or poor quality coffee can reduce the enjoyment of an excellent dessert at a restaurant, Takamura Coffee Roasters has recognized the need for exceptional coffee to complement that already exceptional meal. This realization stemmed from a desire to elevate the after-dinner experience, prompting the exploration of the world of coffee and its similarities to wine.

The roastery was inspired by the complex process of selecting quality wines and embarked on a journey of creating innovative coffee experiences that are just like the careful selection of grapes. The decision to roast our own beans was driven by the passion to produce coffee that not only enhances the enjoyment of delicious food, but also resonates with the discerning taste buds of wine lovers. From the modest beginnings of the wine shop, a commitment to provide a unique and exceptional selection of coffee was born.

Central to this roastery's philosophy is the belief that coffee should be treated with the same respect as wine, with an emphasis on terroir, flavor profiles and production processes. Using its experience from the wine industry, the roaster wants to redefine the experience of drinking coffee and invite customers to discover the subtle flavors and complexity of selected coffee. With an unwavering commitment to quality, innovation and collaboration with coffee producers, the roaster continues to push the boundaries of coffee excellence and invites customers to enjoy every cup as much as fine wine.

Since its establishment seven years ago, the roastery has been constantly striving for perfection. With strict quality control measures and a commitment to sourcing the highest quality coffee beans, the roaster has gained recognition in the competitive world of coffee championships. From 2nd place at the 2018 Japan Coffee Roasting Championship to 1st place at the 2018 Japan Aeropress Competition, Takamura Coffee Roasters continues to demonstrate its expertise and passion for the craft of coffee.
