About Aliena Coffee Roasters
In the vast galaxy called the Milky Way, the unique Aliena Coffee Roasters is located on the streets of Rome, in countless planets on Earth. What makes it unique? After exploring their unusual and daring design and presentation, you will discover a clear direction in the processing of their products with the hidden idea of the authors. In the words of the roaster: "Our coffees are intended for every person willing to experiment, where taste is perceived as a universal value, an act of research, the assimilation of cultures and the possibility of self-success." Aliena because its members love sci-fi and have always felt a bit off-planet in their coffee ideology.
Dario Fociani is behind the selection of coffee and its roasting, alongside his work partners Dafne and Arturo. Originally, Dario founded and developed a coffee shop called Faro in Rome, which naturally today is the main customer of Aliena roaster coffee. It was created later as another of the initiative projects of the founder Dario. He tries to push his work forward through the quality of his production. "Our goal is to provide a unique coffee experience emphasizing the work of the farmer and the value of terroir, which marks the influence of local natural conditions on the development of unique flavors in your cup of coffee. We strive to strengthen the coffee value chain, embodying and delivering values such as transparency, traceability and seasonality coffee beans."
The mission of this roaster is the revolutionary conquest of the tastes of modern man through the consistent selection of coffee beans for their roasting. The coffee beans are roasted in two ways: in the ALIENA range of products they roast exclusively light and in the UMANA range they choose medium roasting, all on a 15kg Giesen roaster. We write below what each variant contains:
- ALIENA - This coffee is roasted lightly and tries to develop its notes of acidity and sweetness. All the bitterness then disappears in the perfect balance of flavors. The aim of this roasting is to highlight the quality of the coffee cherries themselves, also with regard to their origin and processing. In this roastery, they really value coffee as a crop and treat it from this point of view.
- UMANA - Together with the previous series, UMANA stands next to it, in which you can find coffee roasted only medium. This is where the coffees are hidden, from which you can extract a more classic aroma and the higher acidity is then balanced by a full and rounded taste. A hint of bitterness is present, but not at the top of the flavors.
