About Kmen Coffee Roasters

Sweet, juicy and fragrant, but always different. We do not believe in absolute truths and we respect that everyone can enjoy something different. We are looking for the sustainability of coffee, not only as a raw material, but the whole way that the bean goes into the cup, and all those who are involved. Our coffee strain unites people who feel the same way.

At the end of 2021, we opened not only a new espresso bar in České Budějovice, Czechia, but above all a coffee roastery. Our South Bohemian act called the Tribe, like the lower part of the tree, has deep roots and gives rise to new branches. Petr, our main roaster, has many years of experience with roasting beans from his former roastery Fragaria and with preparing coffee from his long-term work in Café Datel. After all, in Datl, our cooperation began not only with its owners and partners in Zuzka and Honza, but also with Lucie and Kryštof, who participate in the operation of the roastery.

We have been making selected coffee for 8 years, but everything is still new to us. New name, new people, new space and also new packaging. At coffee, we enjoy its diversity the most - we don't believe in one right taste, every harvest, every field is different and tastes different. Whether we were in Panama or Peru, we secretly ate ripe coffee cherries on the farms. Then one realizes that coffee is actually fruit. And that's exactly what we want to say with our packaging and everything - coffee doesn't have one universally right taste, on the contrary. In each bag you will find just the fruit (true, sometimes it will be nuts or chocolate), which we feel most in a given coffee, which is characteristic.

Coffee tends to be sweeter in Kenya, so you don't have to worry about too much currant/tomato acidity. Still, good fruity coffee.
