The high altitude of 1690 m.a.s.l. provides ideal conditions for growing the renowned Kenyan varieties SL 28 and SL 34. Conditions in this region are nearly perfect due to highly fertile soil and optimal climatic conditions. The local farming community has long specialized in producing specialty coffee, and thanks to meticulous care and hand-picking, their coffees consistently achieve top ratings for quality.
This coffee is processed using the traditional washed method, known for preserving clarity and delicacy in flavor. After harvesting, the cherries are carefully hand-picked and then sorted to remove any defective fruits. After sorting, the cherries are washed to remove residual pulp. The beans are then dried on raised beds, ensuring even drying and protection from moisture and contamination. This drying process takes several days, and once optimal moisture content is achieved, the coffee beans are ready for export. Thanks to this meticulous processing, the coffee retains its clean, fruity flavor and intense yet harmonious acidity, making it uniquely distinctive and unmistakable.
