Our mission:
Tribes of Mokha is committed to sharing Yemeni coffee with cafes and coffee shops which share a similar passion for serving great coffee that also happens to be ethically produced. Our goal is to connect our farmers and cooperatives, with our customers through the shared passion for coffee, as well as their stories and lives.
From farm to cup:
Tribes of Mokha coffee is produced ethically and its guaranteed origin and quality is a byproduct of a close relationship between its farmers and producers. We work restlessly on sourcing single-origin Yemeni coffee by maintaining close partnerships with selected coffee producers who maintain direct contact with farmers and ensure farm-to-cup traceability. Our coffee was grown, produced and roasted by Yemeni hands.
Coffee characteristics:
Yemeni coffee is well known for its complex flavour profile and natural sweetness. The oldest method of coffee processing, known as the dry or natural method, remains the same in Yemen to this day.
We want to shine a bright light onto Yemen's history and diversity, while also introducing the country's coffee from the perspective of speciality coffee. Yemen has served not only as a catalyst for the coffee culture we enjoy today but also as a model for other coffee-growing regions, as it was the first and only country to commercially grow coffee for centuries, beginning in the 15th century. It may surprise you that lots of important terminologies associated with coffee, such as Mokha or arabica, have roots that are traceable to Yemen. We believe, that the world deserves to know more about the taste and quality of coffee that started it all- coffee from Yemen.
