Finca El Socorro is located in the Palencia region of Guatemala and is known for its high altitude – Finca El Socorro sits between 1540 and 1860 meters above sea level – and ideal climatic conditions for growing premium coffee. The farm specializes in growing the Maracaturra variety, a cross between the Maragogipe and Caturra varieties. This variety is prized for its large beans and unique flavor profile.
After careful hand-picking, the coffee cherries are processed using the washed method. The cherries are first removed from their skin and pulp, then fermented in water for 24–36 hours. After fermentation, the beans are washed with clean water and dried on African beds for 10–15 days until they reach optimal moisture content.
