This is the kind of coffee you'll keep coming back to—and fair warning, it's highly addictive!
This lot comes from the highlands of Reko in the legendary coffee-growing region of Yirgacheffe. Renowned for producing exceptional coffees with bold fruit-forward character, Yirgacheffe—and Reko in particular—does not disappoint. Grown at elevations between 1,950 and 2,150 meters above sea level, the coffee benefits from rich volcanic soil, mountainous climate, and natural shade provided by the surrounding forests. Heirloom and Kurume varieties thrive here, developing a unique flavor profile shaped by the distinctive terroir. The cherries are handpicked and carefully sorted by local farmers who see coffee as both tradition and vocation.
Reko is processed using the natural method, a traditional Ethiopian approach that’s ideal for enhancing the coffee’s sweetness and fruity notes. After harvest, the cherries are dried whole on raised African beds for 15–21 days, during which they are regularly turned to ensure even drying. During this time, the beans absorb sugars and aromatic compounds from the fruit, giving the coffee its intense sweetness and rich fruit-forward taste. The result is a juicy espresso with full body, bright acidity, and a complex finish you’re bound to love.
