Juicy, fragrant and with an incredibly pure fruit profile - this is the Ethiopia BUKU HURUFA GUJI from the Czech roastery Merry Beans, which will enchant you with notes of flowers, raspberries and red orange with a delicate tea aftertaste. This coffee brings the best of Ethiopian tradition - lightness, elegance and a story that tastes as beautiful in the cup as it sounds. Merry Beans has long focused on quality, carefully sourced specialty coffees that are processed with respect for each bean. And this coffee? It's the taste of Ethiopia at its best.
The coffee comes from the Hambela region of Guji, specifically from the small village of Buku Hurufa, which lies at an altitude of 2100-2300m above sea level. Here, local small farmers grow traditional Ethiopian varieties in small fields hidden in the mountains, where the climate is cool and the soil fertile. The cherries are then brought to the local Buku Hurufa processing station where they are turned into one of the season's most distinctive coffees - full-bodied, aromatic and complex. It is here that traditional Ethiopian know-how is combined with precise quality control, resulting in an exceptional cup.
The coffee has been processed using the dry method, otherwise known as the natural method, in which freshly picked cherries are dried directly in the sun for several days. During this process, the beans absorb the sweetness and fruity notes of the pulp. The result is a cup with a distinctive aroma, intense sweetness and silky body. The natural processing gives this coffee an unmistakable character that unfolds beautifully with every sip.
