About Chroast

Chroast is a Czech specialty coffee roaster from Hradec Králové.

"We would love to be able to share with you the experience of the feeling you get when you witness your roasted coffee pouring out of the drum. It's at that moment that you realise that the coffee's long life journey is approaching the finish line. That you have been a part of the extensive journey, that started somewhere in the slopes of African or Southamerican mountains, has affected the lives of multitudes of people who never even got to taste the products of their hard labour, and ens up in the cups of those for whom coffee is love, passion and an irreplaceable part of life. We want to do our work to the best of our abilities, we want to continue improving and pushing the boundaries that our predecessors set before us, and to bring joy to all those that come after us."

Maybe it will be a way of preparation, but here, unfortunately, I can only say...."doesn't feel like Christmas at all". :-/
The aroma is quite pleasant, but no specific scent comes to the fore.
In terms of taste, the coffee is so bland, at times I even feel "weathered" from it, I don't know how to describe it better.
The taste is definitely better when the coffee cools down a bit, then it is slightly sour and with a little good will you can recognize notes of apple there. I don't particularly smell raisins and caramel.
Rather disappointing for me.
I'll try it in a moka pot and a French press, maybe it's just not quite suitable for a filter. :)
