Pepe Jijón - Soledad Gesha is a coffee that is not tasted - it is experienced. This washed gesha is the first ever harvest from the Finca Soledad farm , hidden in the misty forest of Ecuador. The cup combines lime acidity with peach sweetness, silky texture and a subtle tea-like aftertaste. The flavour profile is complemented by fermented tropical fruits and floral nuances that blossom with every sip. This coffee is a celebration of place, people and the moment - it's full of energy and incredibly calm at the same time.
Behind this coffee is a man who has decided to go against the tide. Pepe Jijón, a former mountaineer and traveller, transformed his life and founded Finca Soledad Farm - an island of harmony in the middle of 120 hectares of unspoilt mist forest. Only 4 hectares are dedicated to coffee cultivation, with the utmost respect for the surrounding ecosystem. The farm grows only three varieties - Sidra, Mejorado and now Gesha. All are grown 100% organically and biodynamically, without chemicals and with a deep understanding of the cycle of nature. The result is a coffee with a unique purity, depth and essence of the forest itself.
But Soledad is more than just a farm. It is a community, an idea and a philosophy of life. Pepe and his family actively support the local people - helping single mothers in particular , creating jobs and building an environment where people stick together. This gesha is thus not just a top choice microlot - it's a coffee that tells a story of care, balance and the courage to go your own way. It is a gift - from the forest, from the people, from one extraordinary farm.
