Costa Rica VARA BLANCA from the Nordbeans roastery in Liberec welcomes you in the cup with the aroma of violets, which gently pass into the juicy sweetness of raspberries and the citrus freshness of orange. It's a coffee that feels light and airy, yet offers full body and a beautifully layered flavour profile. The floral aroma adds elegance, while the fruity notes bring liveliness and playfulness. On the palate, everything comes together to form a harmonious whole that develops ideally when filtered.
The Vara Blanca farm, lovingly run by the Marín family, is also at the heart of our roastery. The roastery has been working with the farm for many years and each harvest brings new and new reasons to return to their coffee with enthusiasm. Everything on the farm is family-run, from the harvest to the processing that takes place on site. Their approach combines care, tradition and a taste for innovation, which is evident in every cup. It is these long-standing relationships that produce coffees that have personality and a story.
This coffee is processed using a natural method that perfectly brings out its sweetness and complexity. After careful hand-picking, the cherries are dried whole, without removing the pulp, directly on raised beds where they are turned regularly to ensure even drying. This method gives a full body, juicy fruit notes and a subtle fermentation trail that complements the floral character of the Obata. The result is a coffee that grabs you by the nose and heart - lively, elegant and unforgettable.
