About Artisan Roast Coffee

Artisan Roast is a British roastery located in Edinburgh.

We have a collection of small but beautiful drum roasters that are cared for by a team of enthusiasts and coffee devotees. The coffee is delicately poured into the drums, where it's natural and the full range of flavours is developed through a slow and traditional roasting style. At the same time, we use modern monitoring technology so that we can monitor the behaviour and development of each coffee. Working with coffee in this way is a lifelong journey, and our roasting team is continually working on improving their craft, passion and skills.

We've invested a lot of time and energy into sourcing great speciality coffee so that we can guarantee that the coffee is fresh right until we roast it.  Our roasting process starts in our humble laboratory, where we trial different roasting profiles, identify aromas and flavours that we want to highlight and develop. These are then tested in cupping sessions. We're constantly experimenting, improving and cupping until we're happy with our results, and only then can we start to offer our coffee in our cafes and shops.
