If you love cups that are like a floral-fruity perfume - light, elegant and full of juicy details - then Finca La Reserva [Bourbon Liche] from Colombia will absolutely enchant you. This filter coffee from the Huila region is like a walk through a fruit garden - pansy blossom on the nose , redcurrant and plum on the palate , and sparkly blood orange to finish . It has high acidity, medium body and a wonderfully clean, slightly oily aftertaste. In short, a treat for all the senses.
Behind this delicate coffee is Finca La Reserva, a farm located at an altitude of over 1,680 metres above sea level, run by Jaime Nunez, a producer with a passion for exceptional varieties and sustainable agriculture. Jaime grows the coffee under natural shade, promoting even ripening of the cherries while protecting biodiversity. Bourbon Liche, a rare mutation of the classic Bourbon, is known for its complex, fruity and floral profile. It may be more difficult to grow, but once you taste it, you will realise that the effort is worth it.
It is processed using the honey method, which combines the sweetness of the natural with the finesse of the washed grain. After careful picking and sorting, the coffee cherries are dehulled but some of the pulp remains - which promotes a rich fermentation and intensifies the flavour profile. Drying takes place on African beds under careful supervision. The result is a coffee gem with a cupping score of 87+ that grabs you with its texture, purity and exceptionally fresh expression. The perfect choice for those who want to taste true elegance from Huila.
