About Röststätte Berlin

Welcome to a world where coffee is not just a boring black drink, but an authentic experience with a unique character. At the Röststätte Berlin roastery, the team led by co-founder Ivo Weller is constantly trying to breathe life into coffee.

"With our roasting, we want to highlight the special characteristics of each coffee variety, farm and origin and process them in the best possible way," declares Ivo.

And it is this approach that has made Röststätte Berlin a symbol of quality, and you can currently find their coffee packages in many restaurants and cafes. And not only that. Their long-term relationship with coffee farmers ensures that from bean to cup they create a value chain that is fair for all.

However, their coffee adventure began long before the establishment of the roastery. Co-founders Yvonne and Ivo, both with deep roots in the hospitality industry, rented a small commercial space in Berlin back in 2006. This cafe, which they opened on the spot and which was within sight of Rosenthaler Platz, was one of the first places in Berlin where the traditional culture of coffee was rediscovered. Since then, Röststätte Berlin has become one of the first specialized roasters in the metropolis as well as a successful distribution company for technically advanced espresso machines.

However, their journey certainly does not end. Berlin has become not only a home for the successful roaster, but also a cradle of creativity and innovation. After a major renovation in 2014, the owners expanded their scope to include Berlin's largest store with modern coffee accessories.

Dominic appeared in the team, who took responsibility for marketing and strategic reorientation of the brand. But that's not all. Their skilled baristas, led by Nicole Battefeld, represent them perfectly in various national and international competitions, with the biggest achievements being winning the German Barista Championship and 5th place in the World Championship.

Their deep respect for origin and care in coffee production is reflected in the entire roasting process. In the roaster, green coffee beans are carefully roasted to fully develop their unique flavors without the formation of unwanted acids and defects. However, they don't just have a superficial approach; they carefully select ripe, hand-harvested 100% Arabica beans that grow in shady alpine forests where they respect natural ecosystems. The fair prices they pay for green coffee go hand in hand with their emphasis on transparency. In addition, they provide all information about the origin of the coffee both online and on individual packages.

All employees hope and believe that their passion and commitment will push them further in bringing the best that coffee has to offer, because for them, at Röststätte Berlin, coffee is more than a drink, it is a philosophy.
