About Grounded Coffee
Like all great love stories, ours has humble origins. It all started with a small sample baking tray in the living room of our apartment. A few unhappy neighbors, over-caffeinated tester friends and a production roaster later, we were roasting, making and packaging weekly from our micro roaster in Rotterdam. We raise money prudently and in accordance with ethical and traceable values; we care for the environment and support local communities. For this reason, we only work with selected coffee beans. We roast slowly and lighter than average; to create grains that are just that... Not average. Instead, they're delicious, balanced, almost perfect (hey, we're being modest). And that's our goal when it comes to craft coffee, to share our love & respect for great coffee and prove exactly what coffee can be.
Zahir Omar - head roaster
It started as a hobby because coffee is the perfect intersection of science and creativity. Záhir's passion is experimenting with different roast profiles, drinking V60 pour-overs and roasting coffee for those who like to drink it...if not, be warned, they will try to convert you!
Guido Waas - sales representative
Guido is a true coffee maniac and not only likes to brew and drink coffee (more precisely espresso), but also likes to share his knowledge. It will help you with all your coffee needs, from choosing the right coffee to organizing seminars and training for restaurants, businesses and individuals.
Ibtesam Davids - Marketing
Ibtesam, a local marketing and branding geek, is more likely to be found behind a laptop than a sleeper. She'll probably drink an Oatly cappuccino, but please don't ask her to make you one unless you appreciate latte art, which we'll call "abstract." She founded Grounded with Zahir as a way to join forces and their appreciation of great coffee.
