The Wilfa Svart CGWS-130b electric grinder is the brainchild of the Norwegian company Wilfa, which, in addition to great grinders, also creates designer drip coffee machines. Wilfa Svart is a electric coffee grinder created for professionals as well as coffee-enthusiasts households who want to take their coffee brewing to the next level. In addition to the elegant design, the Wilfa Svart grinder offers great functionality. High-quality steel grinding burrs do not chop coffee beans but crush them together, thus guaranteeing consistent roughness. Grinding can be adjusted to your own needs thanks to its 70-step grind settings.

Grinding settings

The main advantage of the Wilfa Svart grinder is the sensitive and easy adjustment of the coarseness. For beginners, the grinding coarseness is even marked according to the method of preparation, which makes choosing the right setting as easy as possible. The coffee dosing is then automated by a built-in timer.

Advantages over its predecessor WSCG-2

  • This grinder motor has protection against getting coffee jams, i.e. motor overload
  • Quieter and more accurate grinding thanks to the innovative DC motor.
  • The container holds 250g of coffee and is made of special plastic with a UV filter

The engine broke down after a year of use. After a complaint and exchange for a new part, the motor broke down again after 6 months of use.
The engine problem is quite common according to various forums

Hello, if I compare the range of grinding roughness between the silver older version and the black newer version, are both versions the same? I read somewhere (can't remember where) that the silver version has a larger range - towards finesse.

Michal Petr:

Good day, Michal.

Grinders are no different in this regard. The main difference between them is that the black version is newer and has a fuse to prevent the motor from being destroyed in case there is a lot of resistance while grinding. :)

Hello, does the grinder have a lower limit on the amount of coffee it can grind? Can it handle eg 18g/30g? Thank you very much. M.

Michaela:

Beautiful day, Michaela.

The capacity of the grinder is 250g of coffee beans. However, the lower limit is not determined, so it is possible to grind a much smaller amount, you just need to adjust the timer setting :)

good day, what is the smallest coarseness of grinding? is the grinder able to grind coffee to prepare espresso? thank you for answer
Translated from Kofio.cz Show Original
Hello, unfortunately the grinder is not able to grind coffee to prepare espresso. If you are only interested in espresso grinding, I would look at the higher-end Baratza Sette, 30 AP or SAGE grinders.

Have a nice day.

Is a Wilfa or Baratza grinder better?
Translated from Kofio.cz Show Original
Hi Terezka, both grinders are very similar, but of course they also have their differences. The biggest difference is the design and dimensions of the grinders. In this respect, the Wilfa wins, which is more than 1 kg lighter. Wilfa is also a little quieter and can grind coffee a few seconds faster. Best regards Eliška :)
