The Timemore Slim PLUS is the improved sibling of the Timemore Slim travel grinder. This model also has an all-aluminum body and surface treatment that allows for a better grip. Inside the grinder we again find conical stones made of stainless steel and 2 bearings for high-quality and consistent grinding. But unlike the Slim grinder, this Plus version has new improved E&B (espresso and brewing) grindstones designed to be suitable for consistent grinding of both espresso and filtered brews. Grind consistency (filter tested).
Speed!
Quite easy to adjust the coarseness (although one has to remember/write down what setting one has).
Nice design.
Better coffee than the previous Hario Skerton.
The bottom squeaks a bit when screwing (metal to metal). Some people find the sound very unpleasant.
A little more complicated maintenance, I only clean the bottom of the grinder with the supplied cleaning brush, the grinder needs to be disassembled for complete cleaning.
Small capacity if you want to make coffee for more people. Fortunately, thanks to the lightning speed, it is not a problem to grind two batches in quick succession.

The only real difference between the two grinders is that the Black Diamong has steel stones coated with a titanium alloy, which greatly extends the life of these stones. As for the Timemore grinders, they are mainly intended for grinding to a coarser than espresso. Of course, the grinders can also grind very finely, but it is not as precise as, for example, in the case of the Comandante grinders. At the same time, the absence of setting micro-degrees in roughness and the like may bother someone.

Hello, I would like to ask about the comparison of this grinder with the 1Zpresso Q2. I am currently dealing with the purchase of a new grinder and these are my biggest adepts. I use the grinder mainly for the preparation of V60, Aeropress and during the summer in a small amount of homemade cold brew (I often take the grinder with me to the office for the afternoon coffee ritual, so the consistency is also in place and both fulfill this).
In the last week, I have read and watched a number of reviews and discussions, from which I still cannot come to a clear conclusion on the choice (for now, it seems to me that both are almost equally good with high-quality and consistent grinding, and the choice is more a matter of design, dimensions of the grinder and volume/grain capacity).. Since both grinders are in the same price range (and I still don't feel like investing in the Comandante, which is undoubtedly a safe bet), I would like to buy the "best" one.

Have a nice day Honzo :). You have definitely chosen grinders that I myself would recommend to you if you grind especially for filter coffee. Both are really great grinders, both in the resulting consistent grinding, and they are both reasonably priced for what they can do :).
The internal structure of the grinder is very similar as a result, both have 38 mm stainless steel conical stones, double holding of the main axis, coarseness adjustment at the bottom of the grinder and both are screwed together. The only thing is that Timemore has newly developed grinding stones that can consistently grind both filter and espresso (maybe it would be useful for you in the future). The volume is also quite crucial. The Q2 has a slightly smaller bean container than the Timemore, which is not suitable if you plan to make, for example, the Cold Brew in large quantities. But it depends, of course, on the size of the grains themselves, which you will be grinding :).
I have personal experience with the Timemore grinder (C2 Nutty) and I have been very satisfied with it for a year and a half, it grinds beautifully consistently, quickly and the surface of the grinder, which Slim Plus also has, is very pleasant to hold when grinding :). So in the end, as you write, the main point in the decision will probably be the design and which brand is more pleasant for you :). Best regards, Hanka
