The OREA brewer is a dream come true. For years, manufacturers have supported an open initiative called Precious Plastic. It's a wonderful vision of using waste to make things locally at a time when almost nothing is made locally in 2022. It is also a community and a guide for anyone who wants to create local recycling centers or recycled products. Within this network we found our collaborators for this base - EasyMoulds and Relic Plastic. We hope this inspires you too to create something valuable from waste. It's not easier or cheaper than using new plastic, but it was an easy choice for us.
This toy is made from 100% recycled plastic and has been made in the UK using an artisanal process. Sourced plastic waste such as bottle caps, plastic boxes or food packaging is used. This process results in each piece being slightly different as the plastic is bonded differently each time. There are 7 patterns available, but each base is unique. For lovers of coffee accessories, this product is an interesting example of sustainability and creativity in the use of waste material.
Work of art? Certainly! We don't think recycled plastic has to look "recycled". Each base pattern is a work of art. The color mix is deliberately chosen with precise weight and contrast.
