The CLARIS filter prepares perfect water for your coffee. It removes unwanted substances from the water, protects the coffee machine from limescale, and always filters only the necessary amount of water. It communicates with the coffee machine on the basis of a chip - it is replaced only in case of real wear. The intelligent CLARIS filter guarantees easy and quick use for the enjoyment of coffee.
CLARIS Smart filters require replacement with a new one depending on actual wear. The previous generation of filters - the Jura CLARIS Blue - required replacement after every 50 liters of water flow or after 2 months of use. With the new Jura filters, you will no longer change the filter prematurely - only when it is needed.
The Jura CLARIS Smart filter is applicable to all Jura coffee machines that use the CLARIS Blue filter - however, the smart meter is only active on fully automatic models with an intelligent water system (I.W.S.®) - model series:

You can also use the JURA CLARIS Smart filter in all coffee machines that you have purchased with the JURA CLARIS Blue filter. The filter will work the same, but you won't get the benefit of the metering chip.
Quality water is decisive for the taste of the prepared coffee, because coffee is 98% water. However, water also contains chlorine, and often contains traces of heavy metals and other undesirable substances. The CLARIS filter, located directly in the water tank, filters only the required portion of water during each preparation. Pre-filtered water never remains in the water tank. The filter absorbs harmful unwanted substances while important fluorides are preserved.

When water is heated, limescale builds up, which slows down the heating process, increases energy costs and can cause the coffee machine to malfunction in the long run. Limescale also adversely affects the quality of the coffee itself. A larger amount of calcium carbonate gives the drink an unpleasant aftertaste and reduces the strength of the coffee aroma. The CLARIS filter provides optimal protection against limescale. Therefore, if you use CLARIS filters in your coffee machine, you do not need to descale the coffee machine.
Automatic filter detection!
Using modern RFID technology (RFID = Radio-frequency Identification), which ensures communication with the filter, it automatically detects the presence of the filter and the status of its use. It thus ensures the use of the full capacity of the filter and the transmission of information about the need for replacement. Using the filter is absolutely simple thanks to modern technology.
