The Fellow Stagg EKG kettle has an integrated thermometer and a special extended nozzle, which is used for precise coffee pouring.

The kettle is interesting at first sight, mainly due to its impressive design. It boasts a blue color and a wooden handle. The extended spout is an excellent accessory for lovers of alternative coffee preparation. Thanks to precise watering, you will achieve a better result. Fellow Stagg is made of high quality polished stainless steel coated with a black matte casing. The handling of the Fellow Stagg kettle is extremely pleasant, which is also helped by the plastic handle designed for the best grip.

The Fellow Stagg EKG kettle has won the Red Dot Design Award - one of the most well-known awards for quality design and innovation.

The American company Fellow is also interesting for its campaign on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, where it has collected over 440 thousand US dollars for its Fellow Stagg ECG.

This kettle has a wooden handle and a handle on the lid. These are maple and walnut. Because wood is a natural product, it is prone to drying out and deformation. Wooden parts that are exposed to high heat and humidity, such as the pull of the lid and the handle, may eventually dry out and crack (like re-inserting the board into the dishwasher). To prevent this, we recommend applying mineral oil to the lid and handle regularly once a month and polishing with a soft cloth.

I switched from classic Hario Buono teapots and copper ones. The copper probably stuck to me the best btw. But in general I started to have a problem with having to put the kettle on the stove before the water boils etc. The Fellow kettle is more expensive, but I just knew right away that it was worth it when I had water boiled in a fraction of the time (mainly there is a built-in thermometer - no thermometers, with dubious accuracy, inserted through a drilled hole in the lid), I think that this may have a positive effect on the consumption of electricity.

Beautiful day, Daniel.

The docking station of this kettle is made of plastic. :)

Kryštof: Hello Kryštof,
thank you for the prompt reply. Is it a quality/hardened plastic that can be expected to last for a while, even against visual defects such as scratches, etc.? My point is that it's not soft plastic like the Brewista Smart Pour 2 has, which can be scratched even if you press it with a cloth...
Feel free to answer the same for Timemore Fish Smart Thin, so we don't have to write the same thing in 2 threads :)
Thank you!

Daniel Dobřanský:

Good day.

The plastic used for this kettle has a matte "waxed" surface. You will see small scratches on it (for example, from nails, etc.). Therefore, only scratches caused by other hard material are visible and can be "polished" relatively well.

As for the plastic base of the Timemore teapot, it is also matte, but actually has a rough texture. Here, the visibility of scratches is not at risk, if you do not make a clear groove on the base with a sharp object.

At the same time, these matters will not affect the functionality of the teapot, so it will always be a possible normal wear and tear of the selected material.

Sincerely
Kryštof from Kofia
