If something is the biggest enemy of roasted coffee, then apart from heat and light, air. Roasted grains are willing to oxidize in the air, which changes their taste profile and loses its aroma. On the other hand, during roasting, a large amount of carbon dioxide is trapped in the grains, which gradually escapes (therefore, after roasting, it is necessary to let the coffee rest before we prepare it). Both of these problems are elegantly solved by a vacuum can.
The American company Planetary Design was founded in the inhospitable environment of the Rocky Mountains, from where it brought precisely processed products to the world of coffee - and with them AirScape. AirScape is currently the most cleverly designed vacuum can on the market. Unlike other cans, which can only remove a limited amount of air from the can, AirScape has a double lid, the lower part of which can be pushed in as far as the coffee and thus expel any excess air. In addition, the one-way valve allows CO2 to escape permanently without letting oxygen in. In this way, we can keep the coffee fresh and full of aroma for a longer period of time.
